“Rise Up” was written as a fun summer jam you can easily listen to with your friends. I knew I wanted to make a fun single for the summer, and I was so inspired by all of the new Christian summer songs coming out. I found myself in the studio with Tedd T, and the idea came to life!

“Rise Up” was also written for Kanakuk Kamps as their summer theme song. Their theme this summer is “Rise Up,” so the song worked perfectly! There are themes of transformation, being a new creation, and living a life out loud for Christ!

After we had written the majority of the song, Tedd asked his good friend, Curb | Word CCM Recording Artist Steven Malcolm to hop on the track. I am so thankful that Steven said yes! The energy he brings to the song is unmatched, and it turns it into such a jam!
