    I ASKED A.I. this…

    write a funny poem about the band Mawcore singing during a battle

    IT GENERATED THIS RESULT…

    In the midst of clash and clatter,
    Stood Mawcore, ready for the matter.
    With guitars as their shining swords,
    And drums that roared like mighty lords.

    “Charge!” cried Jeff with a strum so fierce,
    The enemies paused, their armor pierced.
    Jeremy’s bass, deep and profound,
    Made the ground shake, the foes astound.

    Ryan on drums, with beats so bold,
    Called forth thunder from days of old.
    Joshua’s voice, a rallying cry,
    Lifted spirits, made courage fly.

    Chris with his keys, did not repel,
    But played a tune that rang the victory bell.
    Together they played, a symphony of fight,
    Turning the battle into a musical delight.

    So remember Mawcore, when in a fray,
    They’ll sing and play the foes away.
    For in their tunes, there’s power to find,
    A band of brothers, one of a kind.

  • Murdered

    During the first half of the seven years of the Tribulation, the Lord will authorize the two witnesses to prophecy. They will be given twelve hundred and sixty days, or three and one-half years, to warn society of coming judgment. With the Bride of Christ now in heaven, it will be their mission to testify to the work and redemption of the Messiah Jesus Christ to Israel in particular and to the rest of humanity in general. From their prophetic work will arise the 144,000 Jewish men who will harvest a multitude of believers from the nations.

    Their mere presence will be a constant source of trouble for those who reject God. As Noah’s display of faith in building the Ark at God’s direction condemned the world in anticipation of the judgment poured out upon it, the faith of the two prophets will condemn those who mock their message. Thus, when the Antichrist kills them, the world will rejoice.

    In fact, they will party.

    When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

    – Revelation 11:7-10

    The great city is Jerusalem. Through the wonder of the television and internet, the whole world will watch with glee as the bodies of the two witnesses lie dead in the street. People will exchange gifts in celebration of the death of the prophets of God. Left behind, however, will be a multitude of worldwide believers redeemed through their ministry, suffering under the hand of the beast and eagerly awaiting the return of the true Messiah.

    The Breath of life

    But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them. And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and  gave glory to the God of heaven.

    – Revelation 11:11-13

    The two witnesses will be brought back to life and taken up to heaven in a very public resurrection, followed by an earthquake so massive it will destroy a tenth of Jerusalem. Seven thousand people will die in this quake. Scriptures tell us those living in Jerusalem who survive will be terrified and turn to God.

  • Who Are the Two Men in Sackcloth?

    The Revelation account of the two witnesses does not identify them. Many think they are Moses and Elijah, since Elijah didn’t suffer physical death and Moses died under suspicious circumstances, his body buried by God Himself. The signs that accompany their ministry resemble those of the two ancient prophets. And Jesus appeared upon the Mount of Transfiguration talking with Moses and Elijah. (Matthew 17:1-8; Mark 9:2-8; Luke 9:28-36)

    Others believe Enoch may be one of the prophets since he was also taken to heaven without experiencing death. Since his life and mysterious disappearance from Earth is a foreshadowing of the church and her “snatching away” in the Rapture, this seems unlikely.

    The Rapture will signal the end of the church age and the beginning of God’s restoration of His beloved Israel. It makes perfect sense God would revive the Old Testament prophetic ministry for this work. God is now even preparing the hearts of Jews for Elijah’s return, as He promised in Malachi, the last book of the old covenant:

    Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.

    – Malachi 4:5-6

    Wasn’t John the Baptist really Elijah?

    In Jesus’ day, some wondered if his cousin, John the Baptist, was Elijah.  John denied this when asked.

    This is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he said, “I am not.”

    – John 1:19-21

    Jesus later addressed the subject of his cousin after the Transfiguration. Knowing the promise of Malachi and yet seeing Jesus as the Messiah, the disciples were confused about the vision of Elijah and Moses on the mount. Elijah, after all, was supposed to arrive first.

    As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.” And His disciples asked Him, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” And He answered and said, “Elijah is coming and will restore all things; but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that He had spoken to them about John the Baptist.

    – Matthew 17:9-13

    John’s dad knew who he was.

    John’s father was no small figure in Israel. Zacharias served as priest of the family, or “course,” of Alba. Priests performed temple service in rotation twice a year, for one week at a time. During a priest’s week of service, his home acted as one of the chambers on the temple grounds.

    The most holy part of the temple worship involved the daily offering of incense. Lots were drawn to choose which priest would perform this duty. No priest could receive the honor of the incense offering more than once in his lifetime.

    Zacharias chose the lot one particular day and was ministering at the altar of incense in the holy place when the angel Gabriel appeared to him.

    And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense. Zacharias was troubled when he saw the angel, and fear gripped him.

    But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John.

    “You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother’s womb.

    “And he will turn many of the sons of Israel back to the Lord their God.

    “It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, TO TURN THE HEARTS OF THE FATHERS BACK TO THE CHILDREN, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

    – Luke 1:11-17

    The poor old priest was literally dumbfounded by the event, refusing to believe the angel’s announcement and suffering the loss of his voice as a result until the baby’s birth. When Zachariah obeyed God and wrote the name “John” on a tablet to bestow a name upon the child, God opened his mouth and filled it with praise.

    Yet another is coming before the great day of the Lord.

    John the Baptist came in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare God’s people for the first appearance of the Messiah. He knew, however, that he was not Elijah. Elijah is coming to prepare the hearts of the Jewish people to receive their Messiah at His glorious appearance in the Second Coming. He will be one of the two witnesses in the seven-year Tribulation who will evangelize Israel and a great number of Gentiles during the awful last years before Christ’s return in glory. Their ministry will begin with the evangelization and discipleship of the 144,000 God will seal from every tribe in Israel (Rev. 7:4-8).

    After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all the tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; and they *cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

    …Then one of the elders responded, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?” I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

    – Revelation 7:9, 10, 13,14

    A growing number of Jews today look for the coming of Elijah to restore all things and usher in the return of their Messiah. His coming is anticipated as heralding the final redemption of God’s people. To this day, the conclusion of the traditional Passover meal, or Seder, includes a symbolic invitation for Elijah to join the family, should it be the year of his return. The door is opened, he is “invited” in, and several Psalms are recited. A fifth cup of wine, called “Elijah’s Cup,” is poured for him, and no one drinks from this cup.

  • Men in Sackcloth

    Then there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, “Get up and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it. Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months.  And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. And if anyone wants to harm them, fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way. These have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

    – Revelation 11:1-6

    The Revelation of Jesus Christ describes the Temple Mount with its temple complex and the outer court. In the vision, John was commanded to not to measure the outer court, commonly known as the Court of the Gentiles, as it wasn’t considered part of the temple. This court is prophesied to be “tread under foot” by the Gentiles for forty-two months, pointing to a future temple in Jerusalem and a future time of 3½ years during which the Anti-Christ and his cohorts will command the holy city.

    We know this refers to a time not yet fulfilled because it coincides with the 3½ years of ministry of two mysterious prophets. These two men dress in sackcloth as did the prophets of old and preach in Jerusalem. Their preaching will be accompanied by signs and miracles as witness to their authority. They will be responsible for droughts and plagues during their ministry. It is likely the 144,000 Israeli men who are sealed by God during the tribulation are the fruit of the ministry of these two.

    The Scarlet Thread

    While we don’t know for sure what part of the tribulation constitutes those 3½ years, it makes the most sense it would be the first half of the tribulation. God never leaves humanity without a witness of His presence and power. If the two witnesses didn’t arrive until the second half of the tribulation, this planet would be left for 3½ years after the Rapture of the church with no human witness of God.

    Throughout history, God has never abandoned His creation. Even in times of chastisement and judgment, He has always raised a voice to testify of His greatness and love. Throughout the Bible record is woven the so-called Scarlet Thread of salvation, offering hope and eternal life to all who call upon the Lord.1.

    1. Crisswell, The Scarlet Thread through the Bible, (Broadman Press, 1970).

    On December 31, 1961, W.A. Criswell preached a New Year’s Eve marathon sermon at the First Dallas Church in Texas. To a packed auditorium he presented the overarching theme of Joshua 6, in which a harlot helped the spies of Israel and hung a scarlet thread in her window to identify with the God Israel and be saved. Reverend Criswell made the case for a “scarlet thread” of redemption offered to mankind throughout history.

    Sackcloth and Ashes – Behind Blood Falls

    Sackcloth and Ashes – Behind Blood Falls

  • Holy Mountain

    Where is the “holy mountain” spoken of in the Bible?

    The term “mountain of God” is associated in the Bible with the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Ezekiel 28 places it in the Garden of Eden.

    Again the word of the LORD came to me saying,

    “Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him,

    ‘Thus says the LORD   GOD,

    ‘You had the seal of perfection,

    Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

    You were in Eden, the garden of God;

    Every precious stone was your covering:

    The ruby, the topaz and diamond;

    The beryl, the onyx and the jasper;

    The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald;

    And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets,

    Was in you.

    On the day that you were created

    They were prepared.

    You were the anointed cherub who covers,

    And I placed you there.

    You were on the holy mountain of God;

    You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.

    You were blameless in your ways

    From the day you were created

    Until unrighteousness was found in you.

    …I cast you to the ground.’”

    -Ezekiel 28:11-15,17

    The prophet Daniel defined God’s holy mountain as Jerusalem, the city first spoken of in Genesis.

    And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High.

    – Genesis 14:18

    O Lord, in accordance with all Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain….

    – Daniel 9:16

    The Anti-Christ will…

    …pitch the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the beautiful Holy Mountain; yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him.

    – Daniel 11:45

    Is it possible that the Garden of Eden was in the same area as Jerusalem?

    Intriguing evidence points to the Garden of Eden in the area approximating the land of Israel. Jewish and Muslim tradition alludes to this belief. Mt. Moriah is the high point of Jerusalem; upon it sat both Jewish temples and now Islam’s Dome of the Rock.

    Here Abraham prepared to offer his son.

    Here dwelt the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies, the ark guarded by golden cherubim.

    In his excellent post “Finding Eden,” attorney and novelist Craig Parshall addresses the difficulty of the biblical placement of Eden as the source of four rivers. Two of these rivers described in the Bible are nonexistent now, and two don’t flow into Israel. A reasonable conclusion is movement of land features resulting from the geographical upheaval of the Flood. Parshall notes that Ezekiel 31:8-9 describes the trees in “God’s garden” and clearly connects these trees to Eden in Lebanon in verse 16.

    From Guardian Angel to Serpent

    Contemplate the breathtaking scene set by the Scriptures: An angelic being majestic and perfect in beauty, adorned in precious stones. Ezekiel called him the “anointed cherub who covers.” A literal rendering of the word “covers” is “guarded.” In verse 16 he is called the “covering (guardian) cherub” of this perfect world.

    God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good.

    – Genesis 1:31

    The beautiful angel Lucifer walking in Eden presents a dramatically different picture than the one we’re usually presented. He was a perfect, dazzling, entrusted with guarding God’s precious and crowning creation: Adam and Eve.

    This makes more sense of the entire narrative of the Fall. It brings into focus the depth of Lucifer’s betrayal.

    Adam and Eve were perfect humans, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. They may have been innocent, but they weren’t stupid. Is it possible Eve would have been convinced by a snake to disobey the God of creation Who walked with them in Eden?

    Satan is identified in the Fall as a serpent. Jesus is identified in the New Testament as a lamb.

    Mankind was the crowning creation of God. Job 38:6-7 tells us the angelic beings “sang together” and “shouted for joy” when they witnessed the creation of earth. Since God saw His entire creation was “very good” at its completion, we are given no evidence of a fallen angel or principle of sin in force until the deception of Satan in Eden. And since the Bible clearly states “sin entered by one man, Adam (Romans 5:12), there is also no Biblical basis for theories of a Luciferic pre-Adamic creation, rebellion, or re-created world.

    Did the Fall of Satan coincide with the Fall of mankind?

    The mystery of the origin of sin is an age-old one. The fact Ezekiel describes Lucifer as an exalted, anointed guardian of Eden, “until unrighteousness was found in you,” reason suggests Lucifer’s sin was in the Garden. As others have noted, perhaps his pride was wounded at being just a ministering angel to creatures born of the dust. Perhaps he became jealous of their favored status.

    Isaiah prophesied the king of Babylon’s fall but seems to be speaking to an otherworldly power:

    How you are fallen from heaven,

    O Day Star, son of Dawn!

    How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!

    You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven;

    above the stars of God I will set my throne on high….

    I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north;

    I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;

    I will make myself like the Most High.’

    – Isaiah 14:12-14 ESV

    Did Lucifer see an opportunity to win mankind’s adoration, become god of creation, and perhaps usurp God’s throne completely with a coup driven by the one-third of the angels he had gathered against Him? Did he slither up to Eve not in the form of an animal, but as the trusted and beautiful guardian of the Garden?

    Perhaps we are afraid of turning the entire Genesis account into a mere allegory by wondering aloud if it were Satan’s traits described in the Genesis account, not his physical appearance. If we can tell the difference between the symbolic and literal descriptions of the Christ, can we not accept a symbolic description of the devil without tossing out all of Genesis? We know Christ is not a literal lamb. We understand the term speaks of His divine characteristics and role as the sacrificial lamb of the Passover.

    The devil is specifically identified in the Revelation as the “serpent of old.”

    Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.

    –  Genesis 3:1

    Note the serpent is compared with and separate from the of the creatures of the field. Not more crafty than the others, but more crafty than any animal. Not only is he more devious than the animals, he can speak. We know from the story of Balaam and the donkey that God can make an animal speak. But making it able to outwit a perfect human in a sinless world?

    It could be, and is usually assumed, that Satan spoke through the snake. This is certainly possible. But it makes a lot more sense of the whole of Scripture if he approached Eve as a snake approaches its victims, with stealth and a plan to consume them.

    While it’s true Eve might have carried on a conversation with a snake with no sense of surprise or fear, since she had not experienced death, I submit the scenario is much more powerful and Scriptural if she were approached by Lucifer, the beautiful cherub angel and guardian she trusted. She would have had no reason to doubt his word and would have been tempted to succumb to his sly twisting of God’s Word.

    What we do know is this: Lucifer’s sin stripped him of his exalted position and, ironically, sentenced him to crawl in the same dust out of which sprang the humans he hates so much. Since one law of science states acquired characteristics can’t be inherited, we know snakes were created without legs. Snakes did not lose their legs in Eden.

    Lucifer did.

    Remember Ezekiel 28:17, where we are told God cast Lucifer to the ground. Since he already walked in the Garden of Eden, the only way he could go lower was to crawl in the dust.

    And he has since the Fall, eating God’s dust as he hunts human prey to consume before he is officially taken off the planet.

    Whether Lucifer entered a serpent’s body, transformed into a serpent, or appeared in his role as guardian cherub with a snake’s deceit, matters not as much as learning the crucial lesson of his rebellion:

    Resist his lies.

  • Butterfly Wings is a collection of thirty poems and devotionals written to both encourage and inspire.

    Each poem comes with a reflection point, a simple, but loving prayer, a Bible verse, and a blank space to write down your thoughts. In every short devotional is a pause from within Grace’s life. Her poems span a period of innocence, pain, and growth. All of her writing helped her to appreciate life much more. It also offered her a way to cope and to find joy in her struggles. Most of it is deeply personal and offers a vulnerability from the heart. A vulnerability she wanted to share.

    Grace’s ultimate goal with Butterfly Wings was to show how remarkable you really are. Butterflies can’t see their own wings, so they can’t see how stunning and magical their soul is. We may often feel like we don’t matter or that we’re ordinary, but that’s not at all the truth. Others can see you’re special, even if you can’t see it for yourself. You’re amazing. You’re important. You have worth. She hopes this book will show you that your wings are perfect just the way they were created.

    Grace learned through her trials that in every difficulty we face, we can be sure of two things: We’re loved, and our stories matter. Remember this: God created your wings. And He loves you so much. This book will assuredly bless you in some specific, unique way and pave the road to noticing how beautiful you truly are.

  • Snake, Dragon, Lucifer, or Red Guy with Pitchfork?

    Whether he slithers like a snake, roars like a dragon, or runs around in red tights carrying a pitchfork, the devil is society’s favorite bad guy. He prefers to have people think of him as either a mischievous cherub or a terrifying monster. He wants us to dismiss his presence—or fear it. Either way allows him to control the narrative as he schemes to systemically destroy the work of the Creator on this planet.

    Who is he, really, and where did he come from?

    We first find Satan in the Garden of Eden in Genesis, where he convinces Eve to disobey God’s command and eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  We know the serpent described there is Satan because Revelation identifies him as such. In fact, this one Scripture connects four names to one entity.

    And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old, who is called the devil and Satan….

    -Revelation 12:9

    Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan….

    – Revelation 20:1-2

    Note that two of the names, serpent and dragon, describe his nature and are drawn from the first and last books of the Bible where very unusual events are being recounted. Genesis gives an account of the dawn of creation. Revelation describes events unfolding at the end of the age.

    Bible teacher Don Stewart shares a long list of other titles associated with Satan, many of which are descriptive of his character:

    *Day-Star and Son of the Morning (Isaiah 14:12)

    *The Anointed Cherub (Ezekiel 28:14)

    *The Accuser (Revelation 12:10)

    *The Tempter (Matthew 4:3)

    *The Ruler of the Demons (Matthew 9:34)

    *Beelzebub (Matthew 12:24)

    *The Evil One (Matthew 123:19)

    *The Enemy (Matthew 13:39)

    *Liar, Father of Lies, and Murderer (John 8:44)

    *Ruler of This World (John 14:30)

    *God of This Age (2 Corinthians 4:4)

    *Angel of Light (2 Corinthians 11:14)

    *Belial (2 Corinthians 6:15)

    *Ruler of the Kingdom of the Air (Ephesians 2:2)

    *Roaring Lion (1 Peter 5:8)

    *Abaddon and Apollyon (Revelation 9:11)

    *Deceiver (Revelation 12:9)

    *Accuser (Revelation 12:10) 1.

    A more well-known name assigned to the devil is Lucifer.

    Why Is He Called Lucifer?

    The name Lucifer comes from the King James Version of the Bible:

    How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!

    How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

    –  Isaiah 14:12 (KJV)

    Most other translations favor versions of star of the morning and day star instead of the proper name. Although addressed to the “king of Babylon,” Isaiah 14 is thought to refer to have a dual fulfillment, speaking to both the future destruction of physical Babylon and the downfall of Satan. The fall from heaven and designation as a “star” suggest an angelic or demonic force rather than a human.

    Four books of the Old Testament especially give us insight into the spiritual world and the nature of the devil:

    Job 1:6-12 and 2:1-7 reveal a startling image of Satan moving back and forth between the earth and the throne room of God. It describes interaction between the two and reveals how Satan has to ask permission to inflict pain of any kind upon God’s people. Oddly, it clarifies that the devil neither dwells in nor rules over hell at this time.

    Daniel 10:10-21 relates the words of the angel describing the spiritual battle in the heavenlies between angels and demonic forces.

    Isaiah 14:12-15 describe a being called “star of the morning, son of the dawn,” who dreams of raising his throne above God’s and experiences a radical fall from heaven.

    Ezekiel 28:11-15,17 declares judgment over the “King of Tyre,” who is also described at the “anointed cherub who covers” who was present in the garden of Eden.

    The Five “I Wills”

    The prophet Isaiah lists the five famous “I wills” attributed not only to the Babylon king, but also to Lucifer before his fall:

    But you said in your heart,

                            “I will ascend to heaven;

                           I will raise my throne above the stars of God,

                            And I will sit on the mount of assembly

                            In the recesses of the north.

                           I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;

                          I will make myself like the Most High.”

    – Isaiah 14:13-14

    Again the word of the LORD came to me saying, “Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him,

    ‘Thus says the LORD GOD, ‘You had the seal of perfection,

    Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

    You were in Eden, the garden of God;

    Every precious stone was your covering:

    The ruby, the topaz and diamond;

    The beryl, the onyx and the jasper;

    The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald;

    And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets,

    Was in you.

    On the day that you were created

    They were prepared.

    You were the anointed cherub who covers,

    And I placed you there.

    You were on the holy mountain of God;

    You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.

    You were blameless in your ways

    From the day you were created

    Until unrighteousness was found in you.

    …I cast you to the ground.’”

    -Ezekiel 28:11-15,17

    The Scriptures paint the vignette of an exalted, created angelic being destroyed by pride and jealousy.

    This breathtakingly beautiful being, an anointed cherub entrusted with the oversight of the very Garden of God, did a very bad thing. He wanted to be greater than God.

  • As a young Christian, Kevin Thorson was a normal, healthy 19-year-old. Music was his life, and he planned to play his guitar and use his talents for God. Abruptly, all seemed to end July 11, 1997.

    His mother recalls the words from that dreaded phone call: Pam, you need to sit down… Kevin has been in an accident… paralyzed… ventilator… hospital… She could only comprehend the bits in between those horrifying words. Kevin was lying paralyzed on a ventilator in a foreign country with a broken neck.

    Pam Thorson recounts the true story of her family’s nightmare as they struggled to live out their faith in the face of impossible odds. Song of the Night traces the journey of her family to find peace in the midst of so much darkness.
