Jamie MacDonald’s self-titled debuts at number 3 on Top Christian Albums

Jamie MacDonald’s self-titled debut studio album, Jamie MacDonald, launches at number 3 this week on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart—a tabulation of the 50 best-selling Christian albums in the United States per week. The album also appears at number 18 on the all-genre Top Album Sales chart and number 88 on the Official Charts Company’s UK Album Downloads chart, making the album the highest charting Christian album of 2026, and the highest charting Christian debut album since Forrest Frank’s Child of God in July 2024.

MacDonald’s debut, released in January of this year, contains two radio singles: “Desperate” and “Left It in the River”, both of which were released early-to-mid last year. Each single managed to achieve significant attention across Christian radio stations in the United States, with “Desperate” going on to hit number 3 on the Christian Airplay, and “Left It in the River” going on to lead the chart. It led for two weeks before being dethroned by Seph Schlueter’s “Won’t Start Now”. “Desperate” also appeared on the overall Hot Christian Songs chart at number 10, while “Left It in the River” appeared at number 5. The two songs also each topped the Hot Christian Adult Contemporary chart for a number of weeks—”Desperate” for seven, breaking the record for the longest time spent atop the chart, until “Left It in the River” broke that record with nine weeks.

With the support from the full album and some side promotion from MacDonald, one album track, “Won’t Let Go”, has also launched upon the charts. The track starts this week at number 26 on the Hot Christian Songs chart.

Jamie MacDonald is joined on the chart by one other chart debut for this week: House of Worship’s self-titled sophomore release. Although House of Worship did not enter any United States charts, it saw success in the United Kingdom, where it hits number 17 on the UK Christian & Gospel Albums chart and number 83 on the all-genre UK Album Downloads chart.
