    Hallelujah! It’s Christmas!

It was my first time listening to a Christmas album by Phil Wickham. This one is actually his fourth Christmas album – which I had no idea of. I’ve heard Phil Wickham’s songs in the past, but it had been a while since I’ve listened to his music. I remember enjoying his worship-fused tunes. I happened upon this one, because I was looking for a good holiday album. I have to say, it was a pleasant welcome back. I didn’t even know that this was his fourth Christmas album, but I’m so glad I discovered it through CMADDICT’s Spotfiy Christmas music playlist (check it out here!).

Right away, I was drawn in. I liked how he took familiar songs and added his own festive spirit to them. It had more of a modern-worshipful spark, but somehow, the same comforting feel that you get from classic songs. When I got to the second track, I knew this was going to be one of the best Christian Christmas albums I’ve ever discovered. “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman” is one of my favorite songs during the holiday season, and his rendition of it is now my go-to for Christmas.

There were other favorites of mine, “Silent Night, Holy Night,” with its calm, but powerful melody, “Deck the Halls with CHPTRS,” it starts more toned down, but grows to a joyous celebration at the end, “Hallelujah! It’s Christmas!,” which is also the title of this album – it’s a beautiful, and cheerful track, and “Worth The Wait,” it spurs this ancient, and hopeful tune about Christ (He was indeed worth the wait!), “Holy Forever,” is a worshipful song that brings a focused glory of God, and lastly, “O Christmas Tree (Greatest Story),” is a sweet, and reflective story on the Greatest Story. In conclusion, all the songs are great, and sure to move you to sing along with the lyrics.

Phil Wickham has a couple of albums, as well as his four Christmas albums. I first discovered him from his album Heaven and Earth. A friend of mine first introduced me to his music. I enjoyed that album and played the songs often. Because of this Christmas album, I’m curious to check out his other music again. I loved this new Christmas album by Phil Wickham, and I look forward to more. I highly recommend Hallelujah! It’s Christmas! and his other music, as well. You’ll like them for sure.

I Am N – Inspiring Stories of Christians Facing Islamic Extremists – By The Voice of the Martyrs

Yousef, whose mother threatened to kill him for having a Bible, now smuggles Bibles the way his family once smuggled drugs.

After Parveen’s employer beats her for attending church, Parveen begins to help other young Christian women who work in Muslim houses.

Abdulmasi kills hundreds of Christians in Northern Nigeria with no remorse – until the day he chooses a new life of faith and sacrifices everything for a God of love.

What can we learn from these faith-filled brothers and sisters around the world? How can we pray for them? And what do their remarkable stories teach us about a God whose light shines in a dark world?

I Am N reminds us that we are each “N”, as radical Muslims in Iraq identify followers of Jesus the Nazarene. Wherever we live, we have camaraderie with those who are persecuted. So come meet their families. Listen to their stories. Deepen your faith in a God who gives us the courage to shine in a dark and hurting world.

Finding God’s Life for My Will – His Presence Is the Plan – By Mike Donehey

Finding God’s Life for My Will

    His Presence Is the Plan

    By

    Mike Donehey

    ECPA best seller

The lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist for award-winning contemporary Christian band Tenth Avenue North shows listeners that by seeking God first and focusing on serving him, we can live daily in his will.

“Perhaps God isn’t giving me the plan because He wants to be the plan.”

This was the aha moment for Mike Donehey after years of wrestling with his obsession to know God’s specific plans for his life. He came to the realization that waiting for absolute certainty from God before making decisions may seem uberspiritual, but it can lead to a life of intense stress, paralyzing fear, and crushing regret – just the opposite of the freedom granted to those living a Christ-filled life.

“This is my story…how I gave up begging to know God’s will and began to ask His life to come and change my will.”

With his signature humor and relentless hunger for God, Mike will show you that discovering the Father’s purpose and plan for our lives is not the shell game that we all too often make it out to be. If you’re unsure what to do next, take heart and accept the ultimate invitation: Learn to see God as the plan, not simply the formula to the plan.

The Rapture – Christianity’s Most Preposterous Belief – By Dr. Chuck Missler

    The Rapture

    Christianity’s Most Preposterous Belief

    By

    Dr. Chuck Missler

There continue to be many questions concerning the “Rapture” of the Church and its apparent contrast with the “Second Coming” of Jesus Christ. Where does this strange view come from? Is the term “rapture” even in the Bible?

Clearly, the idea of the Rapture can be considered the most preposterous belief in Biblical Christianity. The situation regarding the doctrine of the Rapture is painfully similar to the famous quote by Dr. Richard Feynman, speaking of quantum physics:

“I think it is safe to say that no one understands quantum mechanics…in fact, it is often stated of all the theories proposed in this century, the silliest is quantum theory. Some say that the only thing that quantum theory has going for it, in fact, is that it is unquestionably correct.”

I, Jesus: An Autobiography – By Chuck W. Missler, William P. Welty

    I, Jesus: An Autobiography

    By

    Chuck W. Missler,

    William P. Welty

Many people who knew Jesus understood him well enough to admire him, to respect him, and to love him. Others were terrified of him. Some of his own relatives said he was out of his mind. But the politically and religiously intolerant leaders of first-century Israel hated him. So they murdered him. But that wasn’t the end of the story. Not by a long shot.

Today, more than 20 centuries later, respected Bible scholars Dr. Charles Missler and Dr. William Welty bring Jesus of Nazareth to you in the most unconventional way possible…by bringing Jesus of Nazareth to talk in his very own words about himself, his purpose, his nature, and his mission.

By the time you’ve finished listening to I, Jesus: an Autobiography, you’ll have learned why this rabbi from Nazareth rose from literal obscurity – as well as from the grave – to change the very course of history.

Heaven – By Joni Eareckson Tada

    Heaven

    By

    Joni Eareckson Tada

For the past 25 years, Heaven has inspired us to live well on Earth even as we long for eternity. Drawing on Scripture, Joni Eareckson Tada answers the deepest questions of our hearts about what heaven will be like, who we will see there, and who we will be there.

This updated and expanded edition of Joni’s classic brings a new understanding of what heaven is, along with new mysteries and hopes. Now in her late 60s, Joni is much closer to heaven than she was when she first wrote the book in her mid-40s. And she says, “I will soon – soon! – hear His voice, look into His eyes, and feel His embrace. And He will say, ‘Welcome home, Joni.’” It is from this vantage point that Joni now speaks about how we can live for Jesus as we look forward to our real home.

As a quadriplegic for 50 years, Joni has also endured cancer and extreme ongoing pain. She doesn’t speak lightly when she reminds us that, “God knows the precise tools to use in your life to cut, facet, cleanse, and refine the diamond that is your eternal soul…. Every good thing that God has ever given you will last for all eternity – including the best part of every affliction.”

    Breadcrumbs

A Collection of Devotions for the Journey Home

    By Jared Bayless

As we grow in our wisdom and journey down the path to our final destination to be with Jesus, we leave breadcrumbs for those who will come after us. When we’ve found the narrow road, we leave breadcrumbs for the generations who will follow behind us and get distracted by the world and all its charms as it tries to distract and detour them away from righteousness.

We leave breadcrumbs for those who wonder if they even know where the path is anymore. As believers, we guide each other home. We look for the breadcrumbs of generations past, of the leaders who gave their lives for the gospel. We see the breadcrumbs and take heart. Other paths lead to death, but we have found the only path that will lead us out.

These are my breadcrumbs for anyone who needs to find Jesus again or who needs reminded to never give up and keep walking, even when it feels like you can’t take another step.
