Vancouver, BC, Canada – February 3, 2025 – NRT Music welcomes youth worship movement, HOMECOMING, to its growing artist roster and announces the group’s latest single, “it is you.” The new song emerges from a place of raw vulnerability, inspired by the honesty of lament found in the Psalms.
While modern worship often centers on praise, this song boldly explores the act of bringing doubts, struggles, and waiting before God as an integral part of faith. The song begins in a space of questioning but transitions into a powerful declaration of trust, proclaiming, “There is no one else / It is You.”
Hailing from Vancouver, Kelowna, and Edmonton, HOMECOMING has spent the last four years traveling across British Columbia, sharing their music at youth conferences and rallies. The band was born out of their shared experiences in church youth groups, where they discovered their passion for worship and music. Their journey reflects their desire to connect with Canadian youth through authentic and heartfelt worship. With lyrics that resonate deeply and melodies that captivate, HOMECOMING continues to serve as a voice of hope and inspiration for the next generation.
The new single follows the band’s ambitious debut single, “JESUS (ily),” and infectious second track, “Burning For You,” both released in 2024. It continues an ambitious schedule of new releases throughout the year.
“it is you.” is available this Friday, February 7, 2025, inviting listeners to embrace the beauty of lament as an act of faith and trust in God’s unwavering love.

(NASHVILLE, TN) — Nashville-based hard rock band KALAMITY KILLS is finding breakout success with the release of their powerful new song “Starry Skies (988),” featuring drums and vocals from Aaron Gillespie of UNDERØATH. An anthem for suicide prevention, the new single originally premiered on SiriusXM Octane with Jose Mangin and just entered the Mediabase Top 40.
Written by vocalist Jamie Rowe and producer/guitarist Jamey Perrenot, the track addresses the critical issue of suicide prevention and awareness, drawing from Rowe’s personal experiences with suicidal ideation. The song specifically references the 988 Suicide Prevention Hotline, aiming to offer hope and support to those in need. Mixed by Kellen McGregor of Memphis May Fire, “Starry Skies (988)” is a testament to the band’s desire to create music that forms real connections with fans …and perhaps save a life.
“You’re not alone,” says Rowe. “When the weight of life feels too heavy, remember that you’ve survived 100% of the trials you’ve already faced. This song is a call to hold on to hope. There’s always hope!”
With a career spanning decades, performances in over 35 countries, and 13 #1 radio hits, Rowe is best known for delivering authentic and emotionally charged music with the band Guardian. Disillusioned with limiting his sound to a single, faith-based genre, Rowe shifted his focus to creating music that resonates more universally. Perrenot, who’s served as Taylor Swift’s bandleader and toured with LeAnn Rimes, brings his production expertise from his East Nashville studio, where the duo’s dynamic partnership came to life.
KALAMITY KILLS’ self-titled debut album reflects a perfect balance of timeless rock influences and modern energy, and features guest appearances by UNDERØATH’s Aaron Gillespie, Korn‘ Ray Luzier and Greg Upchurch of 3 Doors Down. The band’s reimagined cover of “I Still Believe,” the iconic anthem from The Lost Boys soundtrack, first introduced them to a global audience, followed by “The Chemistry of Meant To Be,” which climbed to #42 on the Mediabase and Billboard Rock charts.
The band recently expanded their live lineup to include Julia Bullock and Rob Bodley of the Nashville alt-rock band The Foxies, whose dynamic energy further elevates KALAMITY KILLS’ electrifying stage performances.
While still finding their audience, KALAMITY KILLS has already carved out a niche with their unique blend of raw emotion and high-energy rock. As Rowe puts it: “There’s always a place for fun, mindless hard rock songs, but if I can season that with something that goes deeper than the eardrums, I’m going to explore that.”
Kalamity Kills is available now on all streaming platforms, and will be released on vinyl in February 2025 through PERO Recordings/Girder Music.

For Immediate Release (Westlake Village, CA) — Tensions have flared between South Sudan and its neighbor Sudan following the killings of South Sudanese Christians in Wad Madani, a city in eastern Sudan. Christian Solidarity International’s (CSI) project manager for South Sudan and Sudan reported the South Sudanese “were targeted for being black and Christian.”
“This atrocity crime came hard on the heels of the U.S. State Department’s claim that the rival Rapid Support Forces have committed genocide against indigenous Muslim Black Africans in Darfur in western Sudan,” commented CSI International President John Eibner, an expert on the region. “Politically and socially marginalized Black Africans appear to be targeted for atrocities by both rival Islamist fighting forces.”
In Sudan itself, a civil war has been raging since April 2023, when fighting broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF). On January 11, 2025, the SAF recaptured the strategic city of Wad Madani which the RSF had seized in December 2023. The recapture of Wad Madani is seen as a major breakthrough for the Sudanese army. The city, situated southeast of the capital Khartoum, had been a place of refuge for thousands of people fleeing the fighting – among them South Sudanese citizens – before becoming a center of conflict itself.
Videos began circulating on social media apparently showing government troops capturing and slaughtering South Sudanese civilians in Wad Madani. News reports spoke of between 13 and 29 people executed and beheaded.
Enraged by the massacre, some South Sudanese carried out retaliatory attacks on Sudanese traders and refugees in Juba, the South Sudanese capital, and other urban centers. Protests on the evening of January 16 spilled over into the looting of Sudanese-run businesses.
Since the start of the war, observers have accused both the SAF and the RSF of singling out Christians for attack and destroying churches in areas that they control.
In Sudan, the largest Christian communities are in the Nuba Mountains region of South Kordofan state and Blue Nile state, which neighbor South Sudan. The Nuba Mountains are under the control of rebels from the secular Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement, and the region has remained largely untouched by the fighting that began in 2023.
The Nuba Christian population endured decades of oppression under Sudan’s former Islamist dictatorship. During the country’s second civil war (1983-2005), government forces subjected them to attacks that many scholars have described as genocidal. Countless people in the South Sudan were killed by Islamist militias or abducted to the north. Even though the slave raids have stopped, many Southern Sudanese are still enslaved and are exposed to the cruel arbitrariness of slave owners; others were born in slavery. To date, CSI has been able to free over 100,000 slaves.
