“We’re so excited to welcome talented individuals from across this beautiful, diverse family of faith-based rock and metal,” the Grizzly Awards cofounders share. “Every performance is truly of the highest caliber. We have a few special segments that will hopefully be both meaningful and fun. And we can’t wait to see the community that we know will be engaging in the comments! Every one of you is a part of the night too.”

In addition to performances and other special features, the evening will include winner announcements for categories honoring 2022 releases. Although fan voting established who will take home the trophies this year, the evening is designed to be a celebration of heavy music as a whole, and everyone who released new songs in 2022.

Voting launches for 4th Annual The Grizzly Awards, celebrating faith-based rock and metal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Voting has launched for the 4th annual The Grizzly Awards, celebrating faith-based rock and metal. Fans can cast their votes at https://rockon.ink/VoteGrizzlies until February 6.

This year, fans are invited to cast one ballot, which they can edit at any time until voting closes. The categories have been pared back to focus on the single unifying factor that joins musicians, industry professionals, and fans: the music and its purpose.

“As we continue to navigate the challenges of stewarding the Grizzlies vision, we’re constantly innovating to do so in a way that’s responsible with our resources,” offers The Grizzly Awards team, which includes Mary Nikkel, Joel Burris, Cindy Blankenship and Trevor Tyson. “Like the artists we celebrate, we’re committed to being agile. That means that we’re keeping logistics simple this year to focus on what matters most: the music and the mission.”

Fans can vote in 10 categories, with an additional write-in category meant to honor individual band members. You can see all nominees listed below.

The Grizzly Awards is fan-powered in more than just the votes: as a not-for-profit entity, The Grizzlies depend entirely on fan donations in order to produce the event and supply artists with awards. Donations can be made through PayPal to thegrizzlyawards@gmail.com, or Venmo to @Mary-Nikkel. All donations of $50 or above will get a limited edition Grizzlies poster.

Business sponsorships are also available upon request. You can email thegrizzlyawards@gmail.com to learn more.

The winners of the awards will be determined through a combination of fan votes and the votes of a specialized industry panel of experts. Results will be announced in a livestream within the next few months.

The 3rd Annual Grizzly Awards opens submissions for nomination consideration

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Faith-based rock and metal awards show The Grizzly Awards is gearing up for their 3rd year by opening up submissions for nomination considerations. Bands, fans, labels and management teams are all welcome to submit media at https://bit.ly/GrizzlyNominations2021.

Within the first 24 hours of opening submissions, The Grizzly Awards team received over 300 responses— a number that continues to climb. “Every year, the rock community surprises us,” shares The Grizzly Awards co-founders Joel Burris, Mary Nikkel and Cindy Blankenship. “This year is already blowing us away. The enthusiasm and genuine support that we see artists, professionals and fans in this genre offer each other renews our commitment to serving and celebrating them well.”

The Grizzly Awards will be accepting submissions until the end of December. All submissions will be vetted by experts, with the finalists in each category being released for voting in January. Once again, The Grizzly Awards will be considering a combination of fan votes and the votes of a panel of industry experts.

As the grassroots movement behind The Grizzly Awards grows, in their third year, the organization is celebrating their status as a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. As in years past, the awards show honoring artists will be funded on a donation and sponsorship basis. Donations can be made at http://bit.ly/TheGrizzlyAwardsDonate, and parties interested in sponsoring the show can reach out to thegrizzlyawards@gmail.com.

Ultimately, The Grizzly Awards team hopes that this year’s awards will be a continued support and encouragement to the underdog voices of rock and roll: “We know the sacrifices required to create the music that is changing lives, year after year. We know the toll of years spent sleeping in a van and working two or three side hustles to keep the music going. And we know that listeners appreciate it far more than could be adequately expressed in just words. The Grizzly Awards is a way to tangibly express that love and gratitude through action.”

You can stay tuned for future updates from The Grizzly Awards at thegrizzlyawards.com, and on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter.
