FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — On the latest episode of the podcast Trevor Talks, Taya Gaukrodger (Hillsong United) gave listeners an intimate look at her personal process in creating her debut solo album TAYA. That process took place during the pandemic, the early years of Taya’s marriage and the sweetness of God woven through all of it.

“I just see God’s kindness in spite of our own decisions and our own humanity,” Taya says. “God has a sweet sense of humor, but also a lovely way of reminding us through circumstances and details that He’s detail-oriented as well.”

That detail-oriented sovereignty moved Taya through successful cowrites with Lindsey Sweat and the project’s producer Jon Guerra. It led to apartment writing sessions and constant encouragement from her Hillsong family and her husband, Ben Gaukrodger. Now, Taya’s able to see divine intentionality even in the timing of the album, which has released as her church family is hurting.

“God’s hand is moving things around, and moving people around and situations, even in spite of certain things. Even in the timing of this being released while the most devastating news within our church family has also been released,” she vulnerably shares. “There’s so many things where I’m like, God, I don’t understand this. And yet, at the same time, I experienced His grace. I’m receiving text messages saying, ‘hey, where there was heavy news released today, I’m grateful for a song of joy that actually talks about leaning not on my own understanding, but in all my ways, trusting and acknowledging God, knowing He will make my path straight.”

That holy trust is expressed on songs like “For All My Life” and “Getaway,” both of which Taya breaks down in detail throughout her conversation on Trevor Talks. Every lyric is an anchor to the soul-soothing goodness of God. “We have the Prince of Peace, the one who works deeply and tenderly and says ‘I’m an ever present help in your time of trouble,’” Taya concludes. “He says, ‘come to me. I can show you how to do this. I’m not going to promise you a perfect life, but my promise is that I am with you.’”

As part of the Hillsong family, Taya Gaukrodger has given voice to some of the most recognizable worship anthems of our generation— including Oceans (Where Feet May Fail), Touch The Sky, Captain & Even When It Hurts (Praise Song). Her solo album TAYA is available to purchase and stream at taya.lnk.to/tayaTP. You can listen to the full episode of Trevor Talks on Spotify, Apple Music and Google Podcasts.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Canadian rock group All Above Me is taking on legalism with their new single “The Show Must Go.” The song is available March 25, 2022 on all major platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.

“‘The Show Must Go’ is a follow up song of our last single ‘Wrecking Ball.’ It continues to expand on my personal journey of God tearing me down to rebuild me,” guitarist and songwriter Guiller Contreras shares. “I would spend time with God each and every single day, constantly increasing it, because I felt like I had to as someone in ministry. God showed me that I didn’t have an intimate relationship with Him as my father. I was also putting on a show for other people and for God. I let ministry take over the place where God was supposed to be in my life. This was when God told me that the show had to go, and it was time for Him to be at the center of my life.”

The song was written, recorded and produced by Guiller, and is the band’s second since Karalee Fehr joined as All Above Me’s new vocalist. The new era of All Above Me has emerged through the refining process of being forced to slow down over the past two years as the touring ground to a halt.

Guiller says, “We couldn’t be happier with the way things are going in this new season of All Above Me. We are in a very healthy place as a ministry and as a family. Before the pandemic, we thought that we had to be out on the road and constantly fighting to grow bigger, faster and better. The break during the pandemic really opened our eyes to the importance of just taking things one day at a time.”

That process of surrender has led All Above Me increasingly into finding their voice, offering riff-driven rock songs with crystal clear vocals from Karalee and rapped bars from Guiller. That’s the style “The Show Must Go” presents, a heartfelt sound to back the earnest message. The growth of their sound has also been nurtured through this season of rest. “Since now we are working at a much, much slower pace, we have the time to put into our music and give it the attention that it deserves,” Guiller explains.

All Above Me has already started bringing that sound back out on the road. The band recently wrapped up their first tour since the pandemic, visiting states from Montana to California. Both more shows and more songs are on the horizon.

Get “The Show Must Go” now, and learn more about All Above Me at allabovememusic.com, and by finding them on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

  • FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MARCH 25, 2022 — Capitol CMG artist Stephen Stanley is offering hope and grounding to his younger self with the song “Note to Self,” available on all major platforms March 25.

“Note to Self” was cowritten with Mitch Parks (Matt Maher), Paul Duncan (Lauren Daigle) and Tedd T (for KING & COUNTRY), who also produced the song. The song came about during a writing session, in a sudden flash of inspiration. Stephen and Tedd had already written a few other songs in the day when Tedd asked a simple question: what would you say to your younger self?

“It’s not just directed to the kid version of me,” Stephen explains. “It’s also to me a year ago, or a month ago, or yesterday. These values and lessons last forever: cherish your faith, family and love. Everything’s going to be OK.”

Once those ideas landed, the initial draft of the song was written in just 30 minutes.

“Note to Self” capped off a prolific few years of writing for Stephen Stanley, who is looking towards releasing a follow-up project in the future. This era of writing has required the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist to fight through a lot of self-doubt and fear of failing. “Fear let to anxiety which led to depression. I got to a really low point in my life. I don’t think I’d ever been in such a dark place before, mentally,” Stephen reveals.

Ultimately, that served as the starting place for writing songs that provided crucial room to process: “Songwriting is a God-given coping mechanism. Sometimes we have to get really into our emotions, and sometimes that can lead to scary places. ‘Note to Self’ fits into that writing process through retrospect. I’m looking back on this journey, and I’m finding out what are the important things? What can I tell my future self to hold onto? That’s ultimately God first, and family and love second.”

The single release precedes Mental Health Awareness month, extending solace to anyone who is also struggling with anxiety and depression.

In addition to cowriting and singing the song, Stephen Stanley also played every instrument while tracking “Note to Self” in the studio. The sound he created is comforting and poignant, marked by simple guitar tones and the rasp of authentic vocals as Stephen sings “Hey there lonely boy / Don’t you worry about the future / Lord knows you’re gonna get there / Just keep taking it day by day.”

It’s a message that Stephen hopes can transcend his own life. He says, “Maybe people will think about what they would say to their younger self— how they’d encourage them, what they would tell them. I hope they can see themselves in the song.”

Stephen Stanley has spent 10 years honing a distinct and dynamic voice as a musician. His calling was born when an accident at age 9 left him deaf in his left ear, after which his mom taught him music as an outlet during the recovery process. Early piano and guitar lessons ultimately expanded to Stephen also playing drums and leading worship in his Georgia hometown, ultimately equipping him to join Capitol CMG’s roster in 2020. • NASHVILLE, TENN. (MARCH 25, 2022) Today SEU Worship releases their new single, “Familiar Song,” which is centered around the idea that the word of God is hidden in the hearts of every person. Along with the new song available today here, the live video (below) featuring the worshippers of SEU Worship also premiered. SEU Worship is a combination of students and staff from Southeastern University creating the sound and songs for the worship environment on the campus.

“In addition to the Bible teaching us that we have the word of God hidden in our heart, it also teaches that the evidence of God’s glory and activity is on display in creation,” shares SEU Worship’s Dan Rivera. “This single is about the metaphorical melody that makes up the background music of our lives. That song sounds like the music of heaven where the angels praise and worship without ceasing. It’s a song that says Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty and you can hear it reverberate throughout history if you tune your ear to hear it.”

Leading the next generation of worshippers, SEU Worship has collaborated with writers from across the country to create their upcoming album set to release this fall. This project follows their acoustic album Walk With You, which was released earlier this year. Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming new album.

  • 4 February 2022 – Nashville, TN – GRAMMY®-nominated and GMA Dove Award-winning David Leonard – artist, songwriter, storyteller, and producer – announces the release of Every Hour,” the debut single with his new label partner Sony Music/Provident Label Group. Available now at all digital outlets, a performance video for “Every Hour” is also out and can be viewed below.

“‘Every Hour’ was birthed when I was leading worship at my dad’s college, where for the past 30 years he was a pastor and where I started leading when I was 15,” Leonard shares. “My father was leaving to become the pastor at my home church, so during one of his last gatherings at the college, he asked me to lead worship. I was doing Matt Maher’s “Lord I Need You” and out of that song a spontaneous moment happened, which is special because I’d never written a song that was birthed out of the same place that taught me how to lead worship. It was really cool to have it come out of that moment and space.”

Finishing the song with Josh Baldwin and Stefan Cashwell, Leonard recollects, “Just like everybody else, through these last couple of years, I’ve really realized that the need for God is great. For me, I tend to try to make reminders and try to live in the space of constantly trying to remember, and this song has been that for me. It’s become an anchor point that I’ve been able to fall back on and I’m really proud of it.”

  • NASHVILLE, TENN. (Feb. 4, 2022) – On-the-rise rocker Munday Martin just released “Reactor,” his second single since ringing in the new year – available to stream/download worldwide.

Pulling inspiration from some of INXS’s 80s/90s greatest hits, Martin’s song “Reactor” is the seventh single he has released in the last seven months. The driven artist plans to continue releasing a single per month. Aiming to quench listeners’ growing thirst for creativity and original sounds in the rock space, “Reactor” is unpredictable and a breath of fresh air.

“There’s a temptation to try to sound like everyone else when in reality, we need to sound like what God put inside of us,” Martin said.

“Reactor” was written to address people who normally overreact to what life throws at them. Martin realized after writing the single that the lyrics were really a reminder to himself.

You won’t find a way out of here

But you’ll find that loving you need

To cope with the punches that come

You’ll be riding on top of the Son

You’ll be riding on top of the Sun

“I feel like everyday stress triggers and growing up in a home with an alcoholic are the things that drove me to addiction in the past,” said Martin. “If every person can learn how to be more proactive and less reactive in response to the struggles life deals us, we can overcome the temptation to quit.”

This song is uniquely important due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects on mental and physical health as well as negative economic outcomes throughout society.

The hope of Martin, Producer John Mark Painter and the Munfunco Music team is for the song to relate to fans when they feel alone and to encourage coping mechanisms so that fans will live longer and happier lives.

  • Interview with FUTURES members Chloe Evans, Mark Evans, Danae Leslie and Ryan Rolls:

    1. Congrats on the release of your new album Hills & Horizons.  Tell our audience about the making of the album.

Danae: Thanks so much! It’s been a wild ride over the past 2 years – time flies when you’re having fun, and it certainly did in this album-making process! We’re very intentional about writing together and writing often, so we probably have 40-50 songs in completed demo-form since 2019…so you can imagine just the shortlisting process took months in itself! I love that we ended up with 11 songs that all fit the landscape (no pun intended) of Hills + Horizons, sonically and thematically, because I really feel like it has a strong identity as a collection now and it was worth the journey. From anxiety & mental battles to childlike faith & the goodness of God; these songs are very connected to our personal journeys but also speak into so many different seasons and walks of life. We’re so excited that they’re out now for the world to hear!

    1. Are there a series of Bible verses that best describe the inspiration behind the lyrics to the album?

Chloe: There are so many. Every time we write, scripture is the first thing we fill the page with. As verse after verse appears on the screen, the identity of the song quickly comes into focus. One chapter stands out in the sea of scripture that inspired these songs and that’s Psalm 121.

I look up to the mountains and hills, longing for God’s help.
But then I realize that our true help and protection
    come only from the Lord,
our Creator who made the heavens and the earth.
He will guard and guide me, never letting me stumble or fall.
God is my keeper; he will never forget nor ignore me.
    He will never slumber nor sleep;
He is the Guardian-God for his people, Israel.
    Jehovah himself will watch over you;
He’s always at your side to shelter you safely in his presence
He’s protecting you from all danger both day and night.
He will keep you from every form of evil or calamity
as he continually watches over you.
You will be guarded by God himself.
You will be safe when you leave your home
and safely you will return. He will protect you now,
    and he’ll protect you forevermore!

    Psalm 121

    1. Last year, you guys were busy releasing a series of great tracks and ended the year with an incredible Christmas song, “Angels.”  With the new year, what are you hoping to see happen with the new album?

Mark: For Futures as an artist and more importantly, all the members on an individual level, the journey of this album has been an awakening. I think we can all feel something new happening; stirring just below the surface in Christianity worldwide. Isaiah 43:19 declares “See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”. We aren’t saying we know exactly what it is or how it looks but we do perceive it & we are leaning into it with our writing and our sound. Music is powerful because its origins are deeply supernatural, and so we are really intentional about the atmosphere that each song we write creates. We are believing that the spirit of these songs would break through depression, disappointment, discouragement & disillusion; literally changing not only how people feel about their situation but how they see everything.

    1. Can you tell us more about your radio single “Hills & Horizons”?  What inspired you to create it and how does it speak to you guys?

Ryan: I don’t know that we really knew what we signed up for when we set out to write  this song. We wanted to write a song that was about our collective journey as a team. But as we dived in, we realized that this message was both, far more broad and yet so much more personal and individual than we could have imagined. Psalm 119:105 says “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Truth is, we don’t get to see the whole picture of what lies ahead for us. God always gives us what we need for the time and season. The challenge is that we just have to keep moving forward, and with every step, a little more of the picture becomes clear. Can we learn to love the glimpses of the God dream that He has for us? Every time I listen to this song personally, it gives me perspective that God is moving in my life whether I have a clear view of it or not. The process of learning to trust the in-betweens is our very prayer for this song; that people will let go of their control of their lives and hold on to the one who is faithful in and through it all.

    1. Futures originally started at Influencers Church in Australia and the US.  What is worship like in Australia compared to the US and are there differences that you have experienced?

Danae: I grew up at Influencers in Australia and then made the move stateside in 2014, coming on staff in Atlanta to help plant our locations over here…so I’ve been lucky enough to witness the incredible pioneers of the worship movement down under! One of our worship leaders won the very first Australian Idol in 2004 and Planetshakers (the youth movement and worship band) was birthed in our local youth ministry! Worship teams like Hillsong United and Darlene Zschech really led from the front in creating an incredible worship culture in the late 90s and early 2000s and I’m so grateful – it feels like we stand on the shoulders of giants who paved the way. Thanks to that rich legacy in Australia, I feel like I grew up serving with really solid, humble, pure-hearted worship teams.

When I first came to the USA I was blown away by the excellence of local church worship teams; a healthy reverence for the platform translated into bringing the best of our talents every Sunday! That’s something I noticed from the get-go for sure…fast forward to our current team dynamic with 11 locations, dozens of worship leaders and hundreds of team members across our church and I love that we can constantly learn from each other and grow together!

Ultimately, my experience in both countries has been that each contributes an important note to the beautiful harmony of global worship; all in the same key, united in the pursuit of making Jesus famous!

    1. How can we be praying for you?

Ryan: Thank you! This is such a refreshing question. We would so appreciate your prayers for these songs to have a significant & tangible impact on people’s lives. Also, that these songs would encourage people to keep trusting in God; reminding them that He’s always with them. Perhaps our greatest prayer is that these songs find their way to people who don’t know Jesus and it compels their hearts to open up and surrender to him. Please pray for us, that we would stay in the “grace zone” and continue to hear words and melodies from Heaven. This matters to us. Our heart is not to just write songs for the sake of it, but rather to steward what we believe that God has equipped us for and called us to do.
